Celebrating October...Gracefully

October brings celebrations at Providence Farm. There is a new forty-year-old on Old Forty, who loves spending time in "the back forty." On Samuel's new reading list will aptly be "Now We Are Six." Yesterday brought a new calf. Phone call to Papa S. on this, his "29th," (minus three decades). And Mama is one step behind Daddy, pushing forty as the platinum pushes aside the blonde, much to her daughter's chagrin...though Mama says she is growing old gracefully. Gracefully. May it be so. May each day be so full of His Grace that the growing old part isn't even noticed. We are one day closer to eternity. That is reason enough to celebrate...Providentially!

  1. October, my favorite month of the yr & it seems to be floating by just like September! We have a mound of dirt in the front yard which is, at least, 20 feet high! Seems we're going to have a new shop building gracing the property so had to turn over a lot of soil to make it happen! Since there is a gully nearby, guess the dirt can be shoved into it! Congratulations on all the milestones October! Believe me, the 40's will turn into 60's all too soon but His Grace is truly amazing during the process! It's about time for another snapshot of isabelle! Love to all Nana B

  2. Just a warning... I keep inviting my family out to Providence and Kirk keeps saying its OK, but... I just want to warn the Lady of the House that the Morris Family may drop by one Fine Fall Day...and make sure its OK with you... We're from The City but my daughter loves cows.

  3. The Lady of the House would be delighted to make your acquaintance and welcome you to Providence Farm one Fine Fall Day. If your daughter doesn't mind eating cows, too, we'd love to have you all stay for dinner when you come. Might want to make sure we're home, though!

    Warmly,
    Stacey
